Songket, being the most esteemed work of art, stands to represent the cultural instincts and perseverance of our craftspeople. This book is hoped to create an awareness of the need to know the origin of songket, a traditional Malaysian handwoven fabric, its weaving technique and its varied intricate and lovely patterns.
